Kuala Lumpur Walking Tour

From Chinatown, we walked north to Merdeka Square where a cluster of historical buildings are found. We were supposed to visit Masjid Jamek the biggest mosque in Kuala Lumpur but unfortunately it was closed. We continued to walk towards Sultan Abdul Samad building.

National Textile Museum of Malaysia

The National Textile Museum is situated close to Merdeka Square and several other attractions so visiting here can easily be combined with them. The museum basically displays a lot of batik fabric and some gold & precious stone accessories. The entrance is free.

Kuala Lumpur's Big Ben

Just beside the textile center is the Sultan Abdul Samad building. Dubbed as the Big Ben of Kuala Lumpur because of its four face clock tower similar to London's Big Ben.The building has a shiny copper dome and a clock tower which is 40 meters high. The building serves as a backdrop for many essential events for the country and one of the most photograph landmark in Kuala Lumpur. Merdeka Square is just right across Sultan Abdul Samad building. We didn't bother to visit it because it started to drizzle.

Little India

Just a walk away from Sultab Abdul Samad  building is Little India. There are numerous stores selling clothes, spices, souvenirs and some different Indian items. Great deal of clothing can also be found here.
