Cebu Street Treat

After visiting the City of Dumaguete January 2011, we went back Cebu for the“hubo” mass, or the ritual of changing the festive vestments of the Sto. NiƱo to ordinary clothes. Then after mass, we thought of treating ourselves with street eating, hahaha yeah right... literally eating along the street of Cebu. Traditionally, at the heart of the City, main streets are usually close for vehicles to give way to vendors and tourists to just walk, enjoy and avoid the buzzing traffic.
I took this picture from Cebu Business Hotel lobby
Just on time for dinner, small stalls were like mushrooms growing everywhere, and since hubby wanted to experience eating along the street while relishing the taste of LECHON de CEBU. Hmmm... he been wondering why most of our friends preferred lechon de Cebu, so with out delay we first went out and observed if it was really safe and clean to eat there.. so far there were a lot of businessmen, foreigners, local tourists enjoying the food. So we ended up looking for vacant seat and luckily we found one just in front of our hotel. Plates, spoons and fork were well boiled like bones! (lol) you can't barely touch the spoon and fork 5-8 seconds it was given to you. BUT you are most welcome to use MICHAEL BUSTOS Filipino eating tutorial on YOU TUBE-- chow with hands gracefully!

  1. I love Cebu! I lived there as a kid and most of my childhood was spent on the streets of Cebu. I can barely remember how lechon cebu tastes like, but will definitely eat a portion on January (will be taking a vacation there with my husband).

I wrote about a Cebu travel guide and I hope you can take a look at it at

    Thanks!
